The slides can remain in their original format without loss of contrast and color over time. It would be a significant impact on image quality when viewed on a projector. The ideal way to protect your precious photos is to convert your slides into digital format.

Slide Scanner

You might consider a good quality scanner to convert photo slides to digital format. This is because, as the scanner is the ability to scan several slides at the same time different, you can save in a separate file. Doing this will save you time and effort. You can then send the slides scanned to your friends and colleagues via e-mail. Can also improve the brightness of the slides and repair problems with the images before scanning slides.

Scan format

When you want to convert your slides into digital form and maintain an archive of images as slides, then the best format to use is the format Tagged Image. Commonly known as TIF, an image file tif, is probably of high quality. You can view the exact images of the slides using a tif format.

If you are not particular to a certain loss of quality, then you may want to convert your slides to JPG or JPEG. The compression algorithm creates JPG file sizes much smaller than the TIF. This is a very popular format for sharing photos on the web and sending emails to friends and associates.

Although the loss of quality in a jpg is considered very low compared to the TIF, however, this loss of quality becomes important when you want to edit photos on the screen and to record again. This becomes especially important if the slides are old, faded or damaged. If you keep saving the jpg file after each change, the more the quality will be lost. Therefore, you can convert your slides into digital format tif format instead of jpg.

Change scans

If you want to edit photos using the TIF format, make a copy and work on the copy instead of the original slides scanned. You should not work on your original scan to get a good image of the original slide, especially if you have a special meaning for you. You can then use an image editing software to edit scanned copies of the slides, change the sections wilted, add color and improve the image of the screen. This is what is called Airbrush slides that have converted to digital format. The image will be particularly interesting when you are editing.

When you store images on slides, you must convert your slides into digital format. You will be able to view the slides on screen and printed on canvas. You can change the slides and improve the pictures you can share with your family on the Internet!

Scanning 35mm slides is a godsend for people who were born well before the advent of the digital age and have stocks of slides and 35mm negatives stored in closets, garages, attics or under the stairs with so many memories captured them. The purpose for doing this is to commemorate and relive those precious moments again on special occasions and family gatherings. However, this happens rarely, and negatives and slides are left intact for years. This is mainly because it simply is not so easy to obtain and install the 35 mm slide projector and screen. Well, now you do not have to go through problems like this when you want to share forgotten memories with friends and family.

With advances in technology, you can now easily relive the old slides and negatives using scanner 35 mm slides. The scanners are available in different price ranges from bottom to high-end. However, focusing solely on price and the brand will not help you get the best. It must also take into account the characteristics, quality and use of the product before buying one.

One important aspect you must consider when buying a scanner is the purpose for which you will use. If you simply want to digitize old slides you have, then a low end product will do. On the other hand, if you're a photographer who takes pictures regularly, then you should opt for a midrange product. However, if you run a business publishing and printing that needs to analyze large amounts of film and slides, then you should definitely need a high-end.

The scanner resolution is another thing you should consider. The higher the resolution, the better the final product will be. The software that comes scanner is another important feature you should look. Make sure that this will help you perform tasks such as scanning, archiving and editing easier.

Selecting the best scanner for 35mm slides elderly depends not only on price and brand of the product, but also its characteristics and purposes. The software should work seamlessly between the scanner and the laptop. The scanner must also have a high resolution, so you can acquire a wide variety of objects from text documents and all images can be viewed and printed in high quality.

In order to have your brand new HD camera cool and you're ready to shoot the first film. This is where many new filmmakers began to run from pain - thought to save for their first camera was the hardest part, but now the real work (and the actual sentence) begins.

Since I have lived exactly what each of you through this time back when I shot my first device microbudget ( "Bite Me, Fanboy" in 2001), I decided to put together a Quick List six important thing to remember when started first as an independent director or guerrillas. This is what I call ... (drum roll, please) ...

The record Sensei Film's Six tips for keeping your Indie films suck!

And here, my students are faithful tips to help you avoid some pitfalls that I encountered as a director, starting on a budget.

1. Lay Off the Zoom!

Yes, I know that George Lucas has done in the new Star Wars movies, and yes, I know that was popular in the new show Battlestar Galactica, but all to play with the zoom on the camera to do is make your movie look like a movie Shooting Travel Vacation Florida Keys. A really good cameraman can be magnified OK research (or semi-acceptable) ... cameraman really really good, that is. For the most part, however, a zoom is of poor quality and amateur. The best thing is to break your controller to zoom, or at least, the finger closest to her. A dolly, or hand full stedicam will all look 1000% better than a crappy zoom.

2. Vary your angles

One of the most common mistakes most new directors and a hell of a lot of indie and guerilla filmmakers is shooting all looking the same way. Most low-budget film shot is very tight and never really open to a long period - are full of big shots, two hits and tight spots. They also tend to be box diagram favorites at eye level. If you want to make your movie more excited, or more interesting, pull back to the scenes, the tilt of the camera, take a bird's eye or eye worms angle - use your camera angles to help determine your state of mind and control the level of your target audience of the tension / suspense / drama. A good guide is to withdraw more than you think should (or push in others). Be sure to change a few things or sequences and the film becomes stagnant and boring.

3. Good use of lighting

One of the hardest things for most indie, low budget and guerilla filmmakers is to learn to correctly read the DV or HD were on the set. With a much lower contrast and need more light than the human eye (and film), lighting for DV / HD cameras can often be a bit 'counter-intuitive. In other words, what appears to the naked eye, often do not work for your finished film. If you're not careful, you end up with too dark to use. If you worked with, or switched for ', while the cameras can be a little' getting used to the change in methodology. I toured with a number of DP very well recently, who made the mistake of lighting the eyes and not for the camera we shot with. Shoot some lighting tests before starting the shooting in order to get used to the dynamic range of the camera.

4. Write what

Like most low-budget indie filmmakers and the guerrillas are also writing his own material, the first thing you must keep in mind when putting together the new scenario is: what you write! The best way to give your movie a higher value of production is to use everything and anything that already have access. It's hard to go out and find a cemetery or a muscle car or an airplane, but if you have friends / family with unique locations, objects or wardrobe, you can air your little $ 5,000 film, as you have spent tens or hundreds of thousands of people on it. He worked for Robert Rodriguez and will work for you.

5. Get a good tripod

Holding the big hand is a date with your girlfriend (or boyfriend, we're not sexist here at the dojo of Sensei film), but should be used sparingly on a movie set. Get a good tripod and fluid head to use as much as possible to give a solid basis for the work. Memory, hand-held shooting is great as it is used for a purpose and effect. If you do it just because you're too cheap to spring for a good set of clubs then the film suffers.

6. Get a good microphone

I feel like I'm starting to sound like a broken record after yesterday's post on audio equipment essential for indie filmmakers and the guerrillas. However, it is worth repeating again and again. While the public in May forgive a little story Wonky, dark images or quality, even the poor, the only thing that no one is ill forgive her. There is almost nothing you can do is worse than the bad sound quality, and nothing that will make you look more like an amateur - and well short of accidentally shooting all day with the cap. Decent pickups are also available for those of us on a smaller budget and there is absolutely no excuse to be filming on board micro - ever!

Have you: the extent of my wisdom. Yes, I know there are many more things to keep in mind and help (as do so to get a good pub to help launch the game properly or not to hire actresses who want to sleep with), but if you follow these six tips which will have a good head start on how to keep your first low-budget film to suck worse than a whore two dollars.

This is the bottom of this evening dojo. Until next time, shoot!

Digital cameras have done shooting and editing a movie a simple thing for many. Ten years ago, we had few options, no more! You can buy one and find counters are flooded with various models of digital cameras from different manufacturers, each with a range of features and formats. Now comes the hard part: choosing one that fits correctly your goal and your budget.

The sections that follow are intended to guide you through the maze of models and to help you choose what suits you best.

Camcorder Type

Among the two types, analog camcorders and digital cameras, digital cameras are a rage today. Analog camcorders are too heavy, complicated and cumbersome. Therefore, these analog models become quickly replaced. Recording of digital information on a tape or DVD or hard drive and again to read these files without loss of quality are the main advantages of digital cameras. They produce high quality, color and clarity of the video with 500 lines of resolution for the possibility of shooting video with a digicam irresistible.

Key features

Let's take a look at the main features camera. This will help you understand which of them would actually serve your purpose.

Screen Size

The largest screen, the more you can see what you save. At the same time, it will also get more energy. If you plan to run often in full sunlight, an additional feature of the camera will be very useful and saving energy too. There are several models with panels of different sizes. You can have a look at the different models in sizes:

1.8-2.4 in,

2,4-2,7 in,

2,7-3, where

3-3.5 inches

Zoom

There are two distinct ability to zoom and optical zoom digital cameras and most have both.

Digital zoom enlarges the image is enlarged to say the actual number of pixels to get the zoom speed. The final image is grainy in some areas and the lack of a clear definition. This image blurring due to enlargement of the pixels is called rasterization. Most cameras have the ability to disable it. This is not a characteristic of quality and can afford to ignore the purchase of a camcorder. Digital zoom is impressive high score in the figures, but recorded images are virtually useless. Discover patterns in different ranges of digital zoom.

6,3-200,

200-1000,

1000-2000.

Optical zoom with the physical movement of the mechanism of the lens. Lens focal length is changed and the whole image that passes through the lens is captured with optical zoom. Therefore, it is preferable. Optical zoom gives better quality rating than the image.

Recording Formats

Many recording formats are available. Each record type discs or video tapes using a particular standard. Some commonly used formats are:

MiniDV MiniDV tapes are the most commonly used. The video and sound quality is exceptionally good. These are the most integrated medium-range and top model. MiniDV camcorders are small, elegant and fashionable thanks to the small size of MiniDV cassettes.

DVD-The three types of DVD formats are: DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM. With a DVD camcorder, you can record video directly onto DVD-R and DVD-RW. With the DVD-RAM camcorder in-camera editing is possible. DVD camcorders are expensive, but the advantage is also associated with repeated readings of the disc does not degrade.

Flash Media-You can record digital still images for the flash memory card as you do with digital cameras. Very few models of cameras recording on a flash memory card. Flash Media cards used by many different manufacturers are: SD, Compact Flash, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Duo.

HDD HDD camcorders are compact and records in MPEG-2 encoded video and encoded in other formats too. Huge amounts of video data can be stored using compression techniques. The video is recorded on an internal hard drive, the data must be downloaded to a computer, then burned to a DVD, the camcorder is ready to be reused. HDD camcorders are no moving parts, where registration is free of the noise of the engine and there is less chance of mechanical ventilation.

HDV High-Definition video images are recorded on MiniDV tapes and deliver a resolution of 1080i. Sharp, clear video look good on HDTV 1080i capable. If the premises are editing HD video is the computer must have a fast processor, lots of memory to satisfy the demands of video editing software.

8-8 Digital camcorders recording digital video and Hi-8 videotapes. This type of cameras that can play analog tapes recorded in Hi-8 cameras. The picture quality is very good and can be viewed on TV.

Micro-MV MicroMV camcorders use tapes that are much smaller than MiniDV tapes and using compression technology. Digital video is compressed much more than a MiniDV camcorder. Quality MicroMV video cameras record and are equipped with full digital editing capabilities. The weights are ultra compact, lightweight and incredibly small size that fit in the palm. And it will come with heavy price tags.

Image Stabilization

For shooting a good video, you must hold the camera and should be open. Cameras have built up stabilization techniques that correct the errors due to agitation during the shooting. The two types of stabilization techniques are the optical method and the electronic method.

Electronic Art in the computer's internal camera's image stabilization shifts the electronic image in the opposite direction of agitation. This is achieved by zooming the image a bit '. Poor electronic techniques can cause a loss of sharpness or resolution.

In the technique of optical image stabilization, a portion of the lens is moved to the camera to compensate for the shock. This technique is superior to the electronic method.

The best way to get a stable video shooting would be to use a video camera with tripod.

Controls

A small compact camera comfortable to carry, no doubt, but if it's convenient for you to handle the controls too.

You know the old adage. You get what you pay for. You can not fight it. Whatever you buy, improve quality and advanced features are expected to cost more than the basement negotiating variety stripped. This is done with every product I ever bought. However, some products are more effective than others in the same price range below.

So why is all different for a portable DVD player? There are undoubtedly some portable DVD players available at extremely low prices, and most of them are a waste of money. There is good news because the range of low prices for portable DVD player includes a handful of machines of all respect. If the cost is your chief pilot, you can not get the perfect portable DVD player available, but this does not mean you should waste your money on a piece of scrap. Use these guidelines and tips for buying to find the best player in the price range.

First things first. Screen size is the highest difference between premiums and the economic actors. Cheap portable DVD players in the range of $ 100 are generally in the range 7-8 ", and this is where you should focus your search.

Drawing on the review site retail sales of products supplied by the owners as a research tool. The current owners usually give fairly accurate opinion on the products they buy. You know them both of their comments, if your DVD player is good or not. Similarly, if there are problems with a particular model, such as batteries and unpredictable (which is quite common in the lower part of the price range) you will see that too. Consumer preferences are more useful in determining battery performance (both run time and recharge time), the quality of sound and image quality. Note however that a segment of people have unrealistic expectations. So, do not allow a critical analysis to address a particular model. The majority speak for the product and the more often you will be better.

There are specific features that you want to look for and insist on the same drive at low cost. With these features adds to the convenience of the device and do a lot to the total satisfaction of your final choice.

Make sure your DVD player can accept multiple file formats. Many units extremely low prices today are very versatile in their ability to read and display all types of file formats such as DVD, MP3, DVD + R / RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and JPEG. Search for A / V output jack for connection to a home theater system or just a TV bigger. With these results will allow a laptop to function as a backup to the main event of the DVD player that does not break. For long trips with children, A / V inputs allow you to use the screen for the game simply by connecting a game console.

While they were on the topic of Roadtrips and children, find, and dual headphone outputs, if you plan to bring seat passengers to use the device in the car. Also, make sure that ships portable DVD player economy, not only with the power cord needed, but also has a DC car charger. Anti-skip track is another wonderful feature that is now available for the low price of many cars and is almost a necessity to enjoy your DVD movies on the road.

Finally, not too hung up on brands. My first DVD player was a no-brand that I bought long ago when portable DVD players are relatively new. In those days, all the players to mark the prices are far from my reach. My family has used the hell this thing and it worked great for about 6 years. Since that time, I used the portable DVD players and hundreds of other more expensive and do not like the first car. So it is not automatically excluded lesser known brands when looking for a good portable DVD player.
